Welcome.

E faatalofa atu ile mamalu o alii ma tama'ita'i o loo lavea i le itu lenei o le AMT.  welcome to AMT the new orgnaization for youth issues and aspirations.  this page was started by certain individuals who have a vision for the Youth of Samoa.  They call this the Autalavou Mo Taeao and their vision is to see Samoa's Youth become more involved in the planning and discussion of Samoa's future.  Why?  well because you will be living in that future.  you and your children and grandchildren.  that means what is decided now will affect you and your future so we suggect you get involved.
The plan is to form this group or social network using facebook and other social media to create a dialogue between Samoan youth in Samoa, New Zealand, Australia and the USA...or whereever they may be.  it doesnt matter, Samoan youth need to become organized and ready to start taking the reigns of power from their elders when the time is right.  Our current leaders do not seem to care for the future of Samoa and are making decisions that are beneficial only to maintaining their status quo. They dont care if Samoan land that was protected under our constitution and passed down from one generation to another is lost to commercial banks or foreign investors? They are more concerned with what they can secure for themselves and today.  For them tomorrow is a dream and they wont be here to enjoy it.  So all of the plans affecting Samoa today are being mortgaged on the backs of you the youth becasue when it is time for you to take over, there will be nothing for you to manage.  Today's government and the leaders of today are not looking out for your best interests.  They do not have your back.
This is the short sightedness we here in AMT are trying to avoid and prevent.  We want a Samoa that has a bright future with self determination and self reliance.  Not a future of owing the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, China, New Zealand and Australia billions of dollars that we cannot afford. the time to stand up and fight for your rights is now.  This is the first step i a program of empowerment through awareness and action that we here at AMT seek so that when the time is right Samoan Youth can make decisions for their own future and not be stuck with something they had no control over.
